Product Overview

AOSILE Reactive Compatibilized Polyether Block Amide (PEBA) Thermoplastic Elastomer Alloy Pellets are designed for the production of high-performance running shoe and casual footwear midsole preforms, with subsequent CO₂ supercritical foaming.

The material is supplied as milky-white, semi-transparent round pellets, with a specified particle size of 2.0–3.0 mm. It is intended for injection-molded preforms and requires appropriate drying and processing temperature control.

Key Product Features

  • Footwear-focused application: Developed for running shoe and casual footwear midsole preforms.
  • Suitable for injection molding: Recommended processing method is injection-molded preforms.
  • Specified low pellet density: 0.88–0.92 g/cm³ in the unprocessed, unfoamed state.
  • High elongation at break: At least 650%, according to the supplied technical data sheet.
  • Controlled melt flow: Melt flow rate of 3.5–6.0 g/10 min at 230°C under a 2.16 kg load.
  • Moisture-sensitive formulation: Requires controlled drying before processing to help prevent product defects.

Processing Guidelines

For injection-molded preforms, the supplied TDS specifies the following conditions:

  • Drying temperature: 85°C
  • Drying time: 3–4 hours
  • Moisture content: Below 500 ppm
  • Barrel temperature: 164–172°C
  • Maximum barrel temperature: Do not exceed 172°C

The material contains reactive epoxy functional groups. Excessive processing temperatures should be avoided to prevent premature crosslinking. Injection-molded preforms should be sufficiently cooled to release internal stress.

Actual processing conditions should be evaluated and optimized according to the equipment, mold design, and production requirements.

Packaging and Storage

The product is packaged in moisture-proof aluminum foil bags with outer cartons.

Store in a cool, dry place at or below 25°C, protected from direct light and moisture. The stated shelf life is six months when properly sealed. After opening, use the material within 72 hours.

Because PEBA is highly moisture-sensitive, insufficient drying may lead to product defects.

Why Choose AOSILE?

AOSILE provides technical product information and processing guidance to help customers evaluate material suitability for their footwear manufacturing processes.

Contact our team to discuss your application, request the technical data sheet, or evaluate the material for your midsole preform production requirements.

Q1: What is AOSILE PEBA alloy used for?

It is designed for high-performance running shoe and casual footwear midsole preforms, followed by CO₂ supercritical foaming.

Q2: What is the pellet size?

The specified pellet size is 2.0–3.0 mm. The pellets are milky-white and semi-transparent.

Q3: What is the density of the material?

The specified density of the unprocessed, unfoamed pellets is 0.88–0.92 g/cm³.

Q4: What are the recommended processing conditions?

The supplied TDS recommends drying at 85°C for 3–4 hours, controlling moisture content below 500 ppm, and maintaining the barrel temperature between 164°C and 172°C. The temperature must not exceed 172°C under the specified processing guidance.

Q5: Does the material require drying before injection molding?

Yes. The material is highly moisture-sensitive. Insufficient drying may cause product defects. Follow the recommended drying conditions and verify the moisture content before processing.

Q6: How should the material be stored?

Store in a cool, dry place at or below 25°C, protected from light and moisture.

perature and is not classified as a hazardous chemical. Good ventilation and the recommended dust protection should be maintained during processing.

Q7: Can the material be used for other applications?

The current TDS identifies running shoe and casual footwear midsole preforms as the intended applications. Please contact AOSILE to evaluate suitability for other applications.
