Description
Product Description:
AOSILE® Epoxy Functionalized SEBS Compatibilizer is a high-performance reactive polymer additive designed for polyester toughening, polymer alloy compatibility improvement, and advanced plastic modification applications.
Based on hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer (SEBS), this product is chemically grafted with highly reactive glycidyl epoxy functional groups, providing excellent interfacial adhesion, chemical bonding capability, and impact modification performance.
With high epoxy functionality, low residual monomer content, and excellent processing stability, AOSILE SEBS-g-GMA compatibilizer effectively improves compatibility between polyester materials and polyolefins, while enhancing toughness and durability in demanding engineering plastic applications.
Key Benefits:
🔹High Reactive Epoxy Functionalization
The grafted epoxy groups can react with functional groups such as:
- Hydroxyl groups (-OH)
- Carboxyl groups (-COOH)
- Amino groups (-NH₂)
found in engineering plastics including:
- PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
- PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate)
- PC (Polycarbonate)
- PA (Polyamide / Nylon)
🔹 Excellent Polyester Alloy Compatibilizer
AOSILE epoxy-SEBS is widely used as a reactive compatibilizer for polyester/polyolefin blends, including:
- PP/PET alloys
- PE/PET blends
- PP/PBT composites
- Polyolefin reinforced polyester systems
It improves:
- Interfacial adhesion
- Mechanical strength retention
- Impact resistance
- Dispersion of polymer phases
and helps prevent:
- Material delamination
- Brittle failure
- Significant loss of mechanical properties after blending
🔹High-Performance Polyester Toughening Modifier
As a polyester impact modifier, this product provides excellent toughness improvement for:
- Glass fiber reinforced PET
- Glass fiber reinforced PBT
- Mineral-filled polyester composites
- Low-temperature engineering plastic applications
🔹 Advanced Adhesion Promoter for Overmolding Applications
AOSILE epoxy functionalized SEBS can be used as a reactive adhesion promoter for:
- TPE overmolding on Nylon
- TPE bonding with PC substrates
- Soft-hard plastic bonding applications
The SEBS backbone provides excellent compatibility with elastomeric materials, while epoxy groups chemically bond with polar engineering plastics.
- Higher peel strength
- Improved bonding reliability
- Reduced interface failure
- Prevention of delamination during service
Recommended Dosage:
- 2%–6% based on the total compound weight
- TPEE-rich blends: 2%–4%
- Nylon-rich blends: 4%–6%
- Excess use may cause surface blooming or reduced rigidity
Applications:
Sports shoe soles, casual footwear, high-performance foamed sole systems requiring excellent compatibility, elasticity, durability, and environmental resistance
