Why do most anti-tear materials fail?

Some materials on the market incorporate tear-resistant additives that enhance resilience, yet they fail to meet tear resistance requirements or compromise compression performance.

ASL-UHT 9331 achieves true innovation by delivering a tear strength exceeding 23 N/cm without compromising other properties—distinguishing it from ordinary additives.

Key Function of OSL-UHT-9331:
As the interfacial tension agent for the EVA matrix, it forms chemical bonds through group reactions with EVA hydroxyl/amino groups, resolving separation issues. This enables more uniform distribution of OSL-UHT-9331 within the EVA continuous phase, constructing a synergistic network of “elastomer toughening + hard segment reinforcement.”
Tear Resistance Enhancement Mechanism:
OSL-UHT-9331’s flexible segments absorb tear energy and inhibit crack propagation, while its rigid segment groups enhance interfacial bonding strength. By improving compatibility, it makes tear forces more difficult to breach the phase interface, transforming the material from “brittle tearing” to “ductile tearing.” Tear strength typically increases by 60%–80% (specific improvement depends on formulation ratio).
Auxiliary Performance Optimization:
Simultaneously improves processing flowability to prevent uneven cell formation during EVA foaming. Incorporating OSL-UHT-9331 also enhances sole rebound rate (≥55%), thereby increasing abrasion resistance (wear volume ≤0.3cm³/1.61km). This achieves a dual-function solution balancing heat shrinkage control, tear resistance, and practical performance.
